Ear hook is utilized in many plants such as tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and other vining plants, that grow upright and have heavy clusters during growth period.
During growth period, some kinds of plant clusters, especially tomatoes, become too heavy. Because of carrying this weight, plant truss can break, and it is not possible to avoid this issue in early stages. That is why double cluster support is installed to plant clusters in growth stage. This installation prevents clusters from breaking or twining and ensures needed nutrition for immature yields.
In order to install, single hook side of spike hook is simply snapped to plant trusses with heavy unripe crops, and other side of hook, which has smaller, but more hooks is connected the twine, trellis, rope or wire. Average 10 cluster supports are needed per plant, and this number is decided according to the number of clusters in plant as one ear hook is used for each cluster.
